Welcoming Our 2025 Summer Students to Sudbury INO
We’re excited to welcome 17 bright and motivated summer students to our operations this year! From May through August, these students will be gaining hands-on experience across various departments, helping them build valuable knowledge in their fields of study while contributing meaningfully to our daily operations.
Their journey with us began with a comprehensive three-day orientation. Led by Vice President, Zachary Mayer, students received an overview of our operations, were introduced to our core Purpose and Values, and completed essential training focused on Health, Safety, Environment, Community (HSEC), Human Rights Standards, and Young Worker Awareness. Zachary emphasized the importance of prioritizing health and safety, encouraging students to be curious, ask questions, and take full advantage of every learning opportunity.
Orientation week also offered unique experiences, including a visit to the Exploration Core Shed, a tour of XPS Lab, and an introduction to the fascinating world of geology. These firsthand experiences set the stage for a summer of learning and exploration.
This Is Mine Life
Students at Sudbury INO have fun with the Ontario Mining Association's 'This Is Mine Life' cut-outs. This Is Mine Life is a campaign that, in part, encourages youth in Canada to consider careers in mining.
Many students have already shown strong community spirit by signing up to volunteer in partnership events, career fairs, and youth outreach initiatives scheduled throughout the summer.
At Sudbury INO, we take pride in offering meaningful employment opportunities to local post-secondary students – many of whom are children of our employees. The Summer Student Program is a cornerstone of our commitment to developing future talent, promoting the mining industry to the next generation, and supporting capacity-building in our community.
We look forward to seeing all that this year’s students will accomplish – and learn – during their time with us.
