Visit the Horne Smelter

From June 25 to August 9, 2026, Horne Smelter invites you to enjoy a free guided tour that combines history, science and impressive discoveries.

Four tours are offered daily:
• French tours: 9:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
• English tour: 10:30 a.m.

Did you know that Horne Smelter is the only copper smelter in Canada? This is a rare opportunity to discover it from the inside and witness molten copper being poured just a few metres away. A spectacular experience you will never forget!

The tour also takes you back in time with a stop at the oldest building in Rouyn-Noranda: a log cabin that has been transformed into a museum. Your visit begins at the smelter’s welcome house, one of the city's very first homes.

An immersive experience at the heart of an iconic industrial site, where the history of Rouyn-Noranda began.

*Children under 12 years of age are not permitted on the tour.
