CEO Gary Nagle Meets Canadian Leaders to Promote Glencore’s Long-term Investment
On November 17 and 18, Glencore CEO, Gary Nagle, met with Prime Minister Mark Carney, as well as Ministers Mélanie Joly, François-Philippe Champagne, Anita Anand, and Tim Hodgson in Ottawa to discuss our role as one of Canada’s largest diversified miners and suppliers of critical minerals.
The meetings focused on the opportunities and challenges for our business in Canada and the continued investments, modernization and partnerships we are making that support jobs and community development across British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec.
Glencore employs around 11,400 people across nine mines and five processing facilities in Canada, with operations spanning the Elk Valley to Sudbury and Nunavik. Our presence reflects more than 100 years of operating history and an ongoing commitment to extend mine lives, upgrade refining and smelting capacity, and support innovation.
We will maintain this constructive dialogue as we move from planning to delivery, investing to build Canada’s capacity in critical minerals and trading responsibly with the world.
