John T. Ryan National Safety Award winners for the third year in a row!
Raglan Mine has won the 2021 John T. Ryan National Safety Trophy for the best performance in health and safety in the Metal Mines category.
This is the third year in a row and the fourth time in 25 years of operations that we have received this prestigious award from the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM). In 2021, more than 96,000 actions to prevent workplace accidents were taken by our staff and more than 2,600,000 hours were worked without a lost-time accident and temporary assignment. This recognition is a testament to our program that bases itself on encouraging the workforce to declare any incidents or risks – big or small.
This year, we are celebrating 25 years of operations. The daily commitment of our staff to prevention has not only made these last 25 years possible, but also allows us to talk about our next 25. It is thanks to their individual and collective efforts that we can continue to operate and advance our projects while contributing to the improvement of the safety record of the mining industry.
