EVR Raises Over $948,000 for BC Children’s Hospital Foundation
Elk Valley Resources (EVR) is pleased to announce that it has raised over $948,000 for the BC Children's Hospital Foundation through the annual Mining for Miracles campaign.
Mining for Miracles is the BC mining industry’s longstanding fundraising campaign in support of BC Children’s Hospital. Beginning in 2025, a multi-year fundraising commitment began to support the new centre for health complexity, a first-of-its-kind facility that supports children with complex, chronic conditions.
“Through the generosity of our employees, contractors and suppliers, this marks EVR’s most successful Mining for Miracles campaign to date,” said Richard Whittington, Mining for Miracles Co-Chair and Vice President, Development & Projects, EVR. “Thank you to everyone who stepped up to support children in need.”
Over $2.1 million was raised across the B.C. mining industry in the 2026 Mining for Miracles Pie Throw campaign. The signature Pie Throw event sees mining industry leaders face off in a fundraising competition with winners getting to pie their competitor in the face. EVR Pie-ee’s, Craig Bishop, Laura Gislason, Shane Green, and Ernie Canlas were the top four fundraisers in the province, raising a combined more than $802,000.
“Support from corporate partners, like EVR, will ensure this centre has cutting-edge technology, thoughtfully designed spaces and a true family-centered approach. We are so grateful for EVR’s generosity,” said Andrea Hébert, Manager, Corporate Partnerships, BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.
