Celebrating Regional Safety Excellence at Glencore Canada
We are proud to announce that our Raglan Mine and Kidd Operations have each been recognized with the Regional John T. Ryan Safety Trophy in their respective regions – Quebec/Maritimes and Ontario. These prestigious awards, presented by the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM), honour exceptional safety performance in Canada’s mining industry.
-
Raglan Mine based in Nunavik, Québec.
-
Kidd Operations based in Timmins, Ontario.
This recognition reflects the unwavering commitment of our teams to ensure a safe, healthy workplace for everyone. Whether it’s navigating the extreme climate of Nunavik or managing the challenges of deep mining in Timmins, our people bring the same focus and discipline to safety every day.
We would also like to extend a hearty congratulations to Thompson Mine, part of Vale, for winning the National John T. Ryan Trophy for Metal Mines in 2024. After five incredible years of Glencore operations claiming the national honour, we pass the torch – for now. We admire and respect the effort it takes to reach the top and tip our hats to the team at Thompson Mine for an impressive achievement.
With two regional wins under our belt and a proud legacy to uphold, we’re already aiming to bring the national trophy back home next year.
At Glencore Canada, we believe that safety excellence is a journey we undertake together – with our employees, industry peers, and local communities. We celebrate these milestones not only as achievements, but as motivation to keep raising the bar.
Congratulations to all teams involved – your hard work makes a difference.
